Having moved up to the Espoir category (18-21 years) on August 16, this young man has everything it takes to become a renowned athlete in France, with already a dazzling record for his young age.
Yanis started karate at the age of 4, in Quetigny in the Dijon area. He then moved to Saint-Apollinaire before joining the AKDC club in 2012, where he met his coach Franck PICARD, 5th Dan, BEES2nd degree.

At around 11 years of age at the time, the young karateka was relatively hyperactive and thirsty for learning, as described by his coach Franck, but more focused on the technical form (kata). Franck then forced him to practice kata and sparring, with the help of the Burgundy regional coach at the time, Mohamed AKCHA. His trainers noticed his ease of sparring.
In 2013, Yanis took part in the Coupe de France Benjamin and finished3rd. In 2014 and 2015, he won two championship finals in the minime category and went on to win the two French Champion titles.
In 2016, he joined the French team and also took part in the European Championships in Cyprus, in the Cadet category.
He took part in the French Gymnasiades, the European Championships in 2019, taking3rd place, and the Mediterranean Championships, again winning bronze. He is currently preparing for the World Championships to be held in Chile in October.
In recent months, Yanis has taken part in a number of training courses with the French team.

Currently in Terminale S at the Pôle Jeune de Châtenay-Malabry, Yanis would like to follow a sports career path at a gendarmerie school.
Ambivalent, this young man also enjoys basketball, running and various types of online video games. He also loves motor sports and is preparing for his driving licence. Indeed, Yanis is a thrill-seeker.
Willing and demanding, this young karateka also likes to help the little ones with training and competitions at local events.
